Times have gotten tough enough to try to laugh about them with wit and intelligence.
God Is a Middle-Aged Lady is a show written by actress Emanuela Grimalda, who for years has combined successful roles in film and television with her personal exploration of comic writing.
This multi-character monologue makes us laugh at ourselves. In a world gone mad like mayonnaise, where it's difficult to navigate, it provides us with a hilarious manual for contemporary survival. And so perhaps we can, through a gallery of "crazy and desperate" characters, always torn between paying the bills and the need for eternity, find a way out. What if God were a woman? Would things be better? Who knows, he would certainly perform the miracle of finding a nursery school; he would be ubiquitous as only a woman can be, but also insecure, because a woman, even if she is God, struggles to believe in himself. A God who stumbles into black holes but is capable of creating galaxies and delicious tiramisu.
And as she awaits the Last Judgement, when the last will be first and men will give birth in pain, a question torments her: “But if the devil wears Prada, what should God wear?”
