Villa Manin di Passariano, in Codroipo, becomes the heart of the new Residency Centre for the performing arts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a project conceived and curated by CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia , Artisti Associati Centro di Produzione Teatrale di Gorizia and La Contrada Teatro Stabile di Trieste , created thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia in collaboration with ERPACEnte Regionale Patrimonio Culturale Friuli Venezia Giulia .

The project for the newly established Residency Center is based on five pillars that guide its vision: multidisciplinarity, contemporary dramaturgy, new languages, and the valorization of heritage and talent, with a focus on inclusion and social growth. These elements define the Center's cultural identity and guide its artistic choices, with the goal of supporting contemporary performance creativity.

The Artistic Residencies represent incubators of creativity, true engines of cultural development and research, places where creative paths emerge, formats are experimented with, and practices intertwine between artists and communities, audiences and professionals, including through innovative and original local initiatives. For this reason, both in the activities that will take place primarily in the Villa Manin Residence Space and in the initiatives and residencies launched at various locations throughout the region, it is essential to continue the relationship with the various communities, for mutual enrichment and the ability to activate participation.

The Performing Arts Residencies, thanks to public restitutions, workshops and meetings open to the community and exchanges between the artists themselves and their tutors, are living and precious spaces for social regeneration.

The artists selected for the Center's first year, 2025, were chosen through spontaneous applications, direct research, and a scouting process for emerging artists under 35. This process is complemented by two open calls: one for artists and companies under 35, with a majority of members residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and a second open to artists, collectives, and companies engaged in the embryonic phase of multidisciplinary contemporary performance art projects.
