Accabadora, one of Michela Murgia 's most beautiful novels as well as one of the most read books in Italy in recent years (winner of the 2010 Campiello Prize) is the show by Veronica Cruciani interpreted by Anna Della Rosa .

The play was written by Carlotta Corradi at the request of the director, who immediately thought of turning it into a monologue from the point of view of Maria, the daughter of Bonaria Urrai, the accabadora of Soreni.

Michela Murgia tells a story set in a fictional village in Sardinia, where Maria, at the age of six, is given as fill'e anima to Bonaria Urrai, a seamstress who lives alone and occasionally works as an accabadora.

The word, of Sardinian tradition, takes its root from the Spanish acabar, meaning to finish, to kill. Bonaria Urrai helps people at the end of their lives to die. Maria grows in admiration of this new mother, more cultured and attentive than her predecessor, until the day she discovers her true nature.

It is then that she flees to the continent to change her life and forget the past, but a few years later she returns to Aunt Bonaria's deathbed. Final care is one of the duties of being a soul child, a form of adoption agreed upon between the biological parent and the adoptive parent.

Carlotta Corradi's drama begins with Maria's return to Tzia Bonaria's deathbed. There's a period of separation between the two women that weighs heavily on this encounter.

The truth, the anger that the girl still feels for the betrayal suffered by Tzia comes to the surface forcefully, despite Maria's efforts to float among the best memories.
