What does it mean to be different? Is it something to do with birth or with feelings? Yaga could explain it well. Since she was a child, she was always teased by her peers and ridiculed for having only one tooth and a strong personality. Growing up, the world wasn't much kinder to her; in fact, she suffered harassment and gossip of all kinds, which convinced (or forced) her to distance herself from society and take refuge in her picturesque little house in the woods, with only her animals, a rusty gate, and a willow tree for company. Yaga shuns the world; she tried, but she realized that the world is no place for her. But perhaps she's not the only one seeking refuge in the woods. Michetta, a sensitive orphan girl, who loves singing and is kindhearted, also suffers the harassment of her cruel classmates and runs away, runs away from home.
The meeting between the two seems inevitable and fateful... but will they be able to forge a friendship? Or is it just another fairy tale about a witch who eats lost children? The traditional Russian tale is reinterpreted with a contemporary twist, highlighting themes such as bullying, acceptance of diversity, and cooperation. The narrative unfolds at a rapid pace and with captivating visual effects, which further enhance the depth of the subject matter. There are many reading levels, all easily accessible for children. A fairy tale that makes you think, smile, enjoy, and even move you a little.
