“Surprise Dinner” is a comedy by the four Golden Age authors Augusto Fornari, Toni Fornari, Andrea Maia, and Vincenzo Sinopoli, who have already worked together on numerous plays, such as “Therapy Therapy,” “The Family Home,” “The Priest and the Bandit,” and “Back to the Present.”

Stefania and Arnaldo are a well-off, close-knit couple who have been married for many years. He is an established criminal lawyer, while she is an architect who has long been involved almost exclusively in charity work. They are the parents of Angelica, a young woman in her twenties.

One evening for dinner they invite their best friend, Francesco De Palma, an architect.

The couple is unaware that Francesco, a fifty-year-old like them, has been having an affair with their daughter for a year. The evening is the perfect opportunity for Angelica to reveal their relationship to her parents, and so she pushes Francesco to tell his unsuspecting parents the truth about their relationship.

How will Francesco find the courage to tell his friends the truth about his relationship with their young daughter? But above all, how will the two unsuspecting parents react?
