Theatrical play freely adapted from “Sleeping Beauty” in the versions by the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault.
For the occasion, the Theater is a single-theme museum, dedicated to the collection of materials and documents relating to the heritage of the most famous fairy tales of all time. There's a room dedicated to "Pinocchio," "Puss in Boots," "Rapunzel," and all those stories that have filled the imaginations of entire generations of children around the world. The room where the performance takes place is dedicated to "Sleeping Beauty." Upon entry, audience members will receive a flyer with instructions on how to behave in this special place. Above all, they must speak softly so as not to disturb the protagonist's sleep. Ever since she was bewitched, she has been sleeping, and it's unknown how many more years she will continue to do so, awaiting the famous Prince who will awaken her and who could arrive any day now. Two museum staff welcome visitors (the public) and professionally and courteously explain the precious artifacts housed there: the King's crown, the Queen's crown, the stones from the old castle, a faithful reproduction of the original, jewelry, clothing, and, of course, the collection's centerpiece: the regal bed where the beautiful Princess still sleeps, awaiting the Prince who, by kissing her, will finally awaken her from her century-long slumber. The public, who have become a group of visitors, have purchased a "story included" ticket and therefore, in addition to the explanation of the artifacts, are entitled to the story told. However, as the story unfolds, the Princess in her bed moves, giving rise to a series of unique and unexplainable situations that, as we know, only the theater can offer, and which it would be truly unfortunate to reveal in advance.
A game, a great game capable of involving everyone: audience, actors, chairs and theatre.
Actor-led theatre, animated puppets, and audience interaction.
