The show, written by Livia Amabilino, takes the form of dance theater and is directed by Enza De Rose. Actress Daniela Gattorno and dancer Irene Ferrara will take the stage. The impressive set design uses video mapping on four tall canvases resembling sheets of ice, where snow crystals, forests, the Queen's castle, and atmospheric elements will be projected in motion graphics to create the atmosphere. The musical palette is truly diverse: from classical music by Ravel, Strauss, and Stravinsky to contemporary music by Philip Glass and Pink Floyd. In this reimagining of the classic fairy tale, the Snow Queen seeks to destroy art and create a new world, where rationality replaces emotion and the polar wind chills human souls. To do so, she kidnaps all the elves of the Middle World in order to destroy them. For many centuries, elves have been the patrons of the arts, which move and warm the human soul. Each elf is tasked with protecting and instilling "the sacred fire of art" in the hearts of men. But after freezing them all, he notices that one of the elfs, the one of music and song, has escaped. He has the arduous task of freeing all the others, melting the Queen's frozen heart, and bringing art back into the world. An original perspective for this show that focuses on the value of love, compassion, and art in everyone's life.
