What happens when the most glittering success meets society's harshest edge in a deserted station in the dead of night?
In a train station café, amid the smell of espresso and the flickering neon lights, an unlikely and explosive encounter unfolds. On one side, Jacques (Corrado Tedeschi), a well-known television host, a beloved face among the public, drowns in alcohol a profound malaise and the weight of a mask he can no longer bear. On the other, Simone (Debora Caprioglio), a rough and genuine woman, recently released from prison, who has no time for the flirtations, much less the whims of a drunken star.
Under the ironic and cynical gaze of a quick-witted bartender, a heated verbal duel ensues between the two, filled with insults, misunderstandings, and vitriolic responses. But as the hours pass and the night grows darker,
absurd, social barriers collapse. Jacques and Simone, despite being polar opposites, discover that they are united by the same secret and by a mirror-like solitude that makes them, for one night, the only two real people in
a world of fiction.
From intoxication to awakening: a whirlwind of emotions
Waking up the next morning brings with it the protagonist's inevitable amnesia, dragging the trio into a vortex of paradoxical and comical situations. It is precisely in this chaos of "madness," amidst brilliant quips and moments of unexpected tenderness, that the truth emerges: what truly matters and what, despite everything, inexorably draws one human being to another.
"Notte di Follia" (based on the famous "Nuit d'ivresse" by Josiane Balasko) is a comedy of extraordinary intelligence. A deeply entertaining text that can scratch the soul, entrusted to the acrobatic verve of Corrado Tedeschi and the magnetic intensity of Debora Caprioglio, a theatrical duo capable of giving us all
the ferocity and sweetness of this unforgettable night.
“A night where alcohol melts away the masks and waking up forces you to really look at yourself.”
