In a poverty-stricken Russia of the 1990s, a four-year-old boy, Ivan, recounts his desperate escape from home. Left to fend for himself, he dons an oversized coat and finds himself alone on the streets of Moscow, where compassion is a luxury no one can afford. Amidst the cold and fear, Ivan finds refuge with a pack of stray dogs, in an unexpected family that grants him survival.
"Ivan and the Dogs" is a touching solo show in which musician and performer Federica Rosellini intertwines her mother's Russian voice with an evocative electronic score, creating an intimate and powerful experience that explores themes of abandonment, resilience, and universal childhood. A soulful song that moves and shakes, evoking the dark fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm or the wild atmosphere of The Jungle Book.
